German Speedo

Look at this Speedo style suit. It was made by “Solar for Men” in West Germany. It is pretty old since West Germany doesn’t exist anymore. (When was that by the way?) Anyway, it has the drawstring on the side! What is up with that? The string is a loop, not 2 loose ends and is really long as you can see in the pic. I can’t explain why they would do it that way. I have no theories. I have no clue. I just have the suit. :-)
