Monster In A Speedo?

A big monster in a Speedo? No, it is not what you think!

I am a big Sci-Fi/Fantasy fan, and into that category falls the excellent, although often scoffed at, television show called ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer.’ You really should check out the re-runs on the cable channel FX. It is well written, with excellent acting and direction. The third season is my favorite with the evil mayor, but the fourth season produced one of the best hours in television history with the episode entitled ‘Hush.’ It is brilliantly creepy, and very exciting, and deservedly won an Emmy for best writing! But the second season offers one of the best episodes as well, and this episode feature Sunnydale’s very own hunky swim team! And we all know what swim team members wear -- let’s give a cheer – SPEEDOS. There are some wonderful close ups of the Speedos and the men in them. Too bad most of the team is killed off, and sad to say, the monsters in this episode, who looks a lot like the ‘Creature for The Black Lagoon,’ don’t wear any clothes. And even is this wasn’t a clever episode that makes a witty comment on our society’s need for winners at all costs; the shots of Xander (one of the main characters) wearing his team uniform makes this excellent TV viewing.
